The old recycling bin is perfect for forming Snow Blocks for Snow Forts

  1. Pack the snow into the bin.

  2. Flip the bin over, and a snow block pops out (It comes out so cleanly because of the holes in the bottom of the bin).

  3. Pile up the snow blocks, and have a snowball fight! (A good, sturdy fort is essential to winning a snowball fight!).

Windsor will soon be home to an Amazon distribution center and for ease of ordering, I have created a docking site from my orange recycling bin.  With a bin and a target, the delivery drone can't miss!

Topic: Kids Wagon

I think you should reuse the orange bins by putting a pillow on the bottom of the bin and attaching a rope to the front and wheels to the bottom to create a small wagon for little kids.

First the bin is used for our son Arlo to transport delicious lemonade-making supplies to an area on our street where there is a lot of people passing by. Then, the bin will be used as a makeshift table to hold the lemonade on for him to sell! All proceeds from the lemonade will go to the ASPCA to help animals in need.

My idea for creating a new use out of the recycling bin was to turn it into a floating cooler for your pool. The materials used were a pool noodle and a foam board cut to the size of the bin. I added ice and drinks and you have yourself a floating cooler.

Topic: Gnome Garden

My creative reuse of the Windsor recycling bin is a gnome garden using mosquito repelling plants (citronella, lemon balm, catnip, lavender, basil). It includes herbs and plants that can be used for cooking and medicinal purposes as well as helping to repel mosquitoes. It’s also provides fun for kids! :)

I made a specialty book lift out of our recycling box.  I can pull the rope to lift it up the tree to a great reading spot!  I decorated it by making a collage out of copies of covers of some of my favorite books.

Introducing the poolside snack bar. Keep your munchies cool on the hottest of summer days with  removable gel ice packs and interlocking containers which fit into the original grooves of the bin. But wait there's more! The parasol also shades the snacks further keeping them cool.
